In Brazil, a steady cane crush continues to weigh on ethanol prices as they fall to BRL2.33/liter, down 2% on the week and 64.7% of the price of gasoline, down from 77% in early April when the crush was just kicking off. The energy content of ethanol typically means that parity below 70% is a better deal than buying gasoline. The parity hasn’t been this low since October when tight stocks and the approaching end of the crush in December helped to support prices.
