Public comment period on ethanol rail transport rules open until May 31

May 23, 2016 |

In Washington, there is a public comment period open until May 31 regarding the Surface Transportation Board’s proposed rule for rail transportation of various goods including ethanol. The proposal is a result of the service problems that began to emerge in the railroad industry in late 2013 and then the two public hearings held in 2014 to try to resolve those challenges. An interim reporting program was established and the new rule is meant to finalize it.
