Chinese ethanol imports fell 47% in April

May 25, 2016 |

In China, ethanol imports fell 47% in April compared to March at 53,142 cu m, but the figure is way above the April 2015 imports of just 7,441 cu m. The vast majority of the imports were denatured from the US, at a total of 44,496 cu m, less than half of March’s imports of 99,635 cu m. Demand for ethanol imports is falling due to a policy established earlier this year to destock corn reserves.
