Petawawa Renewable Power Corporation developing 500kW gasification project in Ontario

In Canada, Petawawa Renewable Power Corporation in seeking permission to build a 500kW gasification plant in Orangeville, Ontario. The power will be sold to the Ontario Power Authority’s (OPA) Feed-In Tariff (FIT) Program and produced from wood waste, grasses and agricultural byproducts. Excess heat will be used to produce hot water and biochar will be available as a soil amendment. If permission is granted soon and the FIT gets signed off, the project could be online in 2018.
