June 2, 2016 |

In Texas, Sorghum Checkoff has invested $500,000 to compliment a $30 million Dept. of Energy research program into sorghum as a feedstock for biofuels through the Transportation Energy Resources from Renewable Agriculture program. Three of the TERRA projects will be funded with the checkoff money to integrate biology, engineering and computer science in an attempt to transform crop breeding and advance biofuel production.
