Vietnam still not able to reach E5 blend despite high level push

In Vietnam, despite efforts at the highest level of governments, fuel retailers still have not managed to blend enough ethanol to achieve the E5 mandate. E5 was meant to be mandatory in the country’s major cities as of this month but higher prices have discouraged drivers from filling up. More policies are required to ensure ethanol is an economically viable alternative at the pump. The oil industry insists support is needed to drive down prices in order for drivers to use the alternative fuel.
