Germany’s AGQM adds new products to no-harm list

June 13, 2016 |

In Germany, Arbeitsgemeinschaft Qualitaetsmanagement Biodiesel e. V. (AGQM) completed its 10th no-harm test round of oxidation stabilizers, which resulted in adding three new products to AGQM’s existing no-harm list. Biodiesel producers can thus select from a total of 47 tested products of 28 producers of oxidation stabilizers.

Antioxidants are highly recommended to reach the required oxidation stability and to ensure a safe use of biodiesel as component in diesel fuel. AGQM developed a wide-range and sophisticated test method in close cooperation with the mineral oil industry—the no-harm test—in order to rule out any unwanted interaction of those antioxidants with fossil diesel fuel and its additives.

The completed 10th AGQM no-harm test for oxidation stabilizers shows once again that an increasing number of products is available, which can reliably stabilize biodiesel. The three additionally included products are ROX 7500 BF (Callington Haven Pty Ltd.), inaAOX (inaChem GmbH) and YAPOX 2200 (Yasho Industries Pvt. Ltd.).
