Investors starting to take ethanol seriously again

June 13, 2016 |

In New York, investors are taking a liking to ethanol producers again after a weak start to the year with share prices soaring, like Green Plains whose equity price is up 30% just since mid-May while Pacific Ethanol has also jumped 30%.  Even ADM is up 14% while Alaska Air and Gevo both saw their stocks get a shot in the arm following the launch of commercial flights on Gevo’s isobutanol jet fuel. Investors are beginning to see ethanol as less risky and are finally understanding that E10 means secure demand.
