Implications of Green Plains Texas JV on the market unclear

In Texas, an industry source who spoke to Platts said the planned Green Plains joint venture with Jefferson Gulf Coast Energy Partners isn’t likely to have much impact on the domestic ethanol market because there is already plenty of export capacity in the US Gulf region, but considering staging assets are limited in the area, another source said the new Green Plains project could become valuable in coming years. The first phase of the new project is expected to install storage for 500,000 barrels.
