EPA says nearly 1.62 billion RINs were generated in May

In Washington, the EPA says nearly 1.62 billion RINs were generated in May, bring the year-to-date total to 6.76 billion. Of the total produced during the month, 16.01 million D3 cellulosic RINs were generated, for a year-to-date total of 62.85 million. The vast majority remains from renewable LNG and CNG with only 1.78 million coming cellulosic ethanol. No D7 cellulosic diesel RINs were generated and only 7.35 million D5 advanced biofuel RINs were generated during May.
