Blue Marble Biomaterials Receives key food-grade safety OK

June 26, 2016 |

In Montana, Blue Marble Biomaterials, a manufacturer of food-grade chemicals for the food and beverage ingredient market, has been certified by SCS Global Services (SCS) under the internationally recognized Safe Quality Food (SQF) standard.

SQF is a multi-level food safety and quality scheme, benchmarked to the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). SQF certification is earned by pre- or post-farm gate operations that have met one of the world’s most comprehensive food safety standards. Certified SQF operations maintain a documented, HACCP-based Integrated Food Safety and Quality Management System that can be tracked throughout the supply chain. Blue Marble Biomaterials is certified to SQF Code Edition 7.2, Level 2.

SCS is one of the world’s premiere food safety certifiers, with three decades of experience providing professional food safety certification and training services to producers, manufacturers and retailers.

“This certification confirms that Blue Marble Biomaterials has successfully implemented a HACCP-based Food Safety Plan and has management systems in place to validate the Food Safety Plan’s effectiveness,” said Heena Patel, SCS’ Technical Director, Supply Chain Food Safety Audit Services.
