Chinese ethanol imports slide more than half from May’s record

In China, ethanol imports in June slid to less than half of May’s record volume at just 111,651 cu m. Most of the imports came from the US with 104,536 cu m denatured or fuel grade, while much of the remaining ethanol was for beverage use and came from Pakistan, double what the country imported last month. For the second time this year, a 1,260 cu m shipment came from South Africa as well. Imports for the year through June stand at 619,583 cu m.
