Argentina raises ethanol prices again for August

In Argentina, the energy minister has boosted sugarcane ethanol prices to 90 cents per liter for August, up slightly more than 2% on the month but nearly 39% higher than August 2015. Corn ethanol prices are 70% higher on the year but up less than 1% over July at 85 cents per liter. Oil companies must but ethanol at the established prices to comply with the 12% blending mandate. Ethanol production rose during the first quarter by nearly 16% to196,720 metric tons.
