Brazilian trucking company sets up UCO biodiesel production to supply 20% of its fuel

August 9, 2016 |

In Brazil, Camaquã Distribuidora has set up a biodiesel production facility to supply 20% of its fuel needs for its trucking fleet. Production began two months ago, providing about 20 million liters of biodiesel per month using UCO as feedstock. Since diesel already has 7% biodiesel blended at the pump, the company estimates its vehicles are running on 27% biodiesel without losing efficiency while having less of an impact on the environment. The company’s fleet has 52 vehicles operating around Rio Grande do Sul.
