Biosev to boost sugar production while forsaking hydrous ethanol

In Brazil, following in line with the trend among sugar mills to focus more on sugar production rather than ethanol, Biosev announced it will boost its sugar production capacity by 88,000 metric tons for 2017/18 saying there is a large payback to reduce hydrous throughput. Additional investment is not yet anticipated as mills are still recovering from financial losses brought about by six years of surplus in the sugar market that weighed heavily on returns.
