Canada’s ethanol market seen steady through 2017

August 25, 2016 |

In Canada, ethanol imports this year through May have led the USDA to estimate slightly lower imports for 2016 at about 1 billion liters, 83,000 liters less than in 2015 due to shifts in discretionary ethanol blending. The industry has been at full production capacity since 2009 and that is expected to remain the same through 2017 due to no new plants opening even in light of the country’s significant imports, predominantly from the US.
