More than 15 potential buyers on deck for Abengoa’s Hugoton plant

August 29, 2016 |

In Kansas, Ocean Park Advisors says there will be an auction for Abengoa’s cellulosic ethanol plant in Hugoton in October and they are 100% confident the facility will sell. The company says there has been a lot of interest in purchasing the facility, with more than 15 parties already having done site visits and engineering works, so a bid seeking institutional letter will go out to interested parties shortly. Letters of intent to bid are expected by the end of the first week of September. Existing cellulosic ethanol producers, corn-based ethanol producers looking for a 1.5 generation solution and bio-based companies looking to retrofit the site to their technologies are among those demonstrating interest.
