Indian biodiesel producers want more access to UCO feedstock

In India, the national biodiesel association is seeking a policy that will give them more access to used cooking oil for feedstocks, saying biodiesel production could boost by 4 million liters if producers had increased access to UCO. Currently 20% of the country’s biodiesel production comes from UCO. Favorable biodiesel policy saw production jump to 110 million liters in 2015/16 from just 9 million liters the year before, roughly the same volume that has been produced since the start of 2016/17.
