US biodiesel production increases by 2 million gallons in June

In Washington, the Energy Information Agency said that biodiesel production increased 2 million gallons in June.

Overall, nearly 1 billion pounds of feedstock was used in production, 53% of that represented by soybean oil. The EIA added that canola oil (11.1%), yellow grease (11.1%), and corn oil (10.2%) were the next most important feedstocks by volume. Overall, nearly 70% of volume came from the Midwest.

Installed production capacity nationally is currently around 2.1 billion gallons per year, the agency said.
