Rule change proposed to allow E15 in New York state

September 6, 2016 |

In New York state, the Department of Markets and Agriculture has proposed a rule change that would allow fuel sold at the pump to contain a maximum of 15% ethanol compared to 10% currently. The rule includes separate labeling for E10 and E15 pumps. Because the rule is in line with ASTM and standard applicable for interstate commerce, the department said in the notice that it doesn’t expect to receive complaints about the policy change. Comments on the proposed rule change are open for 45 days from the date of publication, August 24.
