Union Dicon Salt agrees with Delta State to develop 10,000 hectares of cassava and processing

In Nigeria, Union Dicon Salt has agreed to plant 10,000 hectares of cassava in Delta State and to set up a processing plant for ethanol and industrial starch production. The state government has promised to provide an enabling environment to ensure the investment is implemented. The ethanol plant will produce 22,000 liters per day while the industrial starch plant will produce 18,000 metric tons per day when fully operational. The project is in line with the state’s SMART policy to attract agricultural investment and create jobs.
