EU Contest for Young Scientists: BBI JU awards bioeconomy non-food prize

September 16, 2016 |

The European Union organizes every year the EUCYS Prize, which has been set up to promote the ideals of co-operation and interchange between young scientists.

It serves as an annual showcase of the best of European student scientific achievement and gives students the opportunity to compete with the brightest of their contemporaries at European level.

This year Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU) sponsors a new category of EUCYS: the bioeconomy non-food prize. The best projects for the conversion of biomass into non-food value-added products will be awarded.

Belgium-based BBI JU is a public-private partnership between the EU and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC).

From September 15th to 20th Europe’s young scientists will be showcasing the results of their work in Brussels, after having been selected in affiliated events all around Europe.
