September 22, 2016 |

In New York state, Lockheed Martin has teamed with Concord Blue to use the latter’s Reformer technology, a type of “advanced” gasification system, to produce 250kW of energy from MSW. So far tests of the project have used discarded wood chips from a nearby sawmill that has so far saved the company 9,000 tons of carbon emissions and $1 million in heating and cooling costs. The two companies have teamed to do a larger 5MW project in Germany and a smaller system at a nearby Veterans Affairs hospital.
