Tight spot supply for Argo Chicago sees prices jump

September 28, 2016 |

In Illinois, tightness in supply of spot Argo Chicago ethanol has seen prices jump more than 8 cents per gallon in the past week and nearly 2.5 cents just on between Monday and Tuesday. The next few weeks are expected to remain tight as export product is loaded.  September’s export activity has ramped up thanks to volumes booked months ago. Falling prices have led producers to slow down production, cutting weekly production volume to981,000 b/d in the week ended September 16, down from 1 million barrels just a few weeks ago.
