August corn consumption higher for ethanol production

In Washington, the USDA said corn consumption for ethanol bumped up in August to 458.1 million bushels, up from 456.0 million bushels the previous month and up from 445.7 million bushels the previous year. In line with increased corn consumption was DDGS production that rose to 2.073 million tons from July’s 2.047 million and 1.929 million tons in August 2015. Sorghum consumption fell from July however to 4.366 million cwt from 5.980 million the previous month.
