Petrobras to shut down Ceará biodiesel plant from November

In Brazil, Petrobras Biofuels, a subsidiary of Petrobras, will close down the biodiesel plant in Quixadá, Ceará, from November, in line with the company’s strategy to fully leave the production of biofuels, reported the state oil company on Friday. The company explained that the decision was communicated to employees, unions, customers and drive suppliers.

The plants of Montes Claros, in Minas Gerais, and the Candeias in Bahia, will continue to operate normally, the company said, studying alternatives for the units, according to the goals of your Business Plan 2017-2021. In the new plan, the state company reduced by 25 percent investment and provides focus its activities in oil production, coming from various sectors such as biofuels.
