Just six companies cashing in on most of the US’s biodiesel imports

October 19, 2016 |

In Minnesota, an advisor to the National Biodiesel Board says just six companies are responsible for most of the country’s biodiesel exports, which thanks to the $1 per gallon blenders tax credit could mean $800 million would go into the pockets of that handful of companies next year as exports increase. For 2016, exports are expected to be around 670 million gallons. Biodiesel and renewable diesel consumption for this year is seen at around 2.5 billion gallons compared to just 300 million gallons in 2010.
