RFA sees EPA boosting RFS 2017 to 15 billion gallons

In Washington, with the Environmental Protection Agency’s deadline to release the final blending volumes under the Renewable Fuel Standard for 2017 just over three weeks away, the Renewable Fuels Association is betting the blend for conventional ethanol will be at 15 billion gallons, above the 14.8 billion gallons the agency included in its draft rule. The difference comes from a gasoline consumption that would indicate a higher blend. The final rule is due out on November 30.
