US ethanol production hits 15.38 bilion gallon rate

In Washington, according to EIA data analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 1.002 million barrels per day (b/d)β€”or 42.08 million gallons daily. That is down 20,000 b/d from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 1.003 million b/d for an annualized rate of 15.38 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol stood at 19.2 million barrels. That is a 2.6% decrease from last week. Imports of ethanol were nonexistent for the 11th straight week. Gasoline demand for the week averaged 386.9 million gallons (9.213 million barrels) daily. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 923,000 b/d, a nine-week high. Gasoline supplied to the market contained an average of 10.02% ethanol, the fifth time in the last seven weeks over 10.0%, and fourth week in a row (see new chart at very bottom).

Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.88%.
