Chicago ethanol prices fall as production comes back online post-maintenance

November 15, 2016 |

In Illinois, prices for Chicago ethanol fell to one month lows for both physical and paper trade following the reincorporation of ethanol producers who had shut down for maintenance that led to a tighter market. S&P Platts assessed physical Argo prices at $1.5845/gal while front-month December futures were at $1.4925/gal. For the last week of October, production rose to 1.022 million b/d but even falling back again during the first week of November to 1.002 million b/d didn’t help in supporting prices.
