Vivergo calls on UK to implement E10

November 16, 2016 |

In the UK, Vivergo is calling on the government to implement an E10 blending mandate in an effort to comply with the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive as well as to support local farmers. Every year the company purchases 1.1 million metric tons of low quality feed wheat to produce ethanol and animal feed. Currently only 5% ethanol is blended with gasoline. The company argues that it is able to provide better prices for local farmers than they would receive on the export market.
