Vilsack says RFS not at risk from Trump

November 21, 2016 |

In Washington, Agricultural Secretary Tom Vilsack says that ethanol is too embedded in rural areas to be at risk from a Trump Administration. Trump has become well known for bouncing back and forth on his opinion about ethanol and the Renewable Fuel Standard, on one hand publically supporting it and on another listening to cronies like Carl Icahn who want the policy reformed or eliminated. He said his future successor will have to take a hard line with Trump on trade and immigration or else there will be no markets to sell products like ethanol and no work force to support agriculture.
