Thai Agro Energy partially shut down following hydrogen sulfide emissions

November 28, 2016 |

In Thailand, hydrogen sulfide levels were found to exceed the allowed limits at the Thai Agro Energy ethanol plant in Dan Chang district following complaints to the Industry Ministry that led to an inspection. The hydrogen sulfide accumulated in a wastewater treatment pond to overcapacity, so the company decided to release some of the excess into the air.  As a result the facility has been partially shut down until the emissions have been dealt with, with a deadline of December 26.
