MOUs for five second generation ethanol plants in India signed

In India, MOUs were signed following the Petrotech 2016 conference in New Delhi between Praj Industries and Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation for one second-generation ethanol plant each. BPC signed a technology transfer deal with Institute of Chemical Technology for a second-generation ethanol plant at Bina as well while the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation signed an MOU with ICT and the government of Punjab for another facility. The deals were announced this fall in line with the central government’s push for cellulosic ethanol to achieve a 22.5% blending mandate.
