Argentina’s farmers may save $377 million by using up to 30% biodiesel

January 2, 2017 |

In Argentina, the department of agriculture is developing a policy that would allow farmers to use their own biodiesel production on-farm to help reduce their operating costs for farm machinery. By some estimates, the move could save the agricultural industry $377 million every year thanks to biodiesel running at about 60% of the cost of fossil diesel. Every season, farmers use about 2.4 billion liters of diesel, 30% of which could be replaced by biodiesel.
