Jefferson Energy Partners breaks ground on Texas ethanol storage facility

January 3, 2017 |

In Texas, ground has been broken for the $55 million ethanol storage facility project announced in June last year by Green Plains and at the Port of Beaumont’s Jefferson Energy terminal. The four tanks will hold up to 550,000 barrels of ethanol and should be online by mid-2017. The facility is intended to facilitate exports, especially with an eye on growing demand in countries like India and China, with estimates that ethanol exports could pass 1 billion gallons this year.
