FCStone sees corn prices remaining flat until after planting

January 4, 2017 |

In Illinois, FCStone says the trend for the range-bound corn market December is likely to remain flat until after planting is complete. Farmer may switch some acres to soybeans that have been more profitable due to lower production in Latin America, which could in turn support corn prices when planting numbers come out. Until then, most support will come from ethanol producers who continue to take advantage of relatively cheap corn and for demand for ethanol exports.
