Ensus helped CropEnergies boost ethanol production nearly 19% through end-November

January 12, 2017 |

In Germany, CropEnergies said its ethanol production increased nearly 19% during the first three quarters of the year to 735,000 cu m in part thanks to restarting the Ensus ethanol plant in the UK last July. Ensus has an installed production capacity of 1.2 million cu m. Lower feedstock prices along with increased volumes help to offset lower ethanol prices in the reporting period through November 30. The company said it remains optimistic regarding the sector through the mid-term even if the European Union’s biofuels policies make longer-term forecasts more difficult to determine.
