Defense secretary nominee not clear if will support military biofuels

January 17, 2017 |

James Mattis, has not clarified whether he will support renewable fuels for the ships and aircraft even though he has in the past been a supporter of renewable energy for troops in combat zones. Trump has said that he is against policies that “undermine” fossil fuels, which would include the Great Green Fleet’s aim to reduce reliance on those fuels. The Navy’s deputy assistant secretary for energy has said he expects support for renewables to continue, however, despite rhetoric.
