In Germany, the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food published an English-language edition of its Evaluation and Progress Report 2015 under the Biomass Energy Sustainability Ordinance.

Biofuel Sustainability Ordinance The FOAF reports that in the biofuels sector, FAME biodiesel made up the largest share of biofuels – almost 65%.  Rapeseed was the most frequently used source material representing 65.3% of biodiesel produced. Corn at 33.2 % and wheat at 30.3% were the most frequently used source materials used to produce bioethanol. The Office added that in 2015, the use of palm oil in biofuels decreased by one third,, and the total savings of greenhouse gas emissions achieved by all (pure) biofuels amounted to over 70 % compared to fossil fuels. By using biofuels, roughly 6.7 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent were thus avoided.
