Indian biodiesel industry calls for implementation of blending and tax cuts

January 24, 2017 |

In India, the national biodiesel industry is calling on the government to implement its proposed biofuels policy including the lifting of taxation on biodiesel that currently makes the fuel uncompetitive against high sulfur diesel. The national association says that eliminating such taxes could see biodiesel production soar to 1 billion liters per year in the next 12 months alone. The biofuel policy aims for B20 by 2017 but is hoping to start off by blending 10%.
