Philippine cane farmers may have new friend in Cavite Biofuel Producers

In the Philippines, Cavite Biofuel Producers is establishing an ethanol plant in Magallanes where small farmers can sell their cane directly. Small-scale farmers owning less than 5 ha represent more than half of the cane farmers in the country and are looking to markets other than sugar, such as ethanol, to boost revenues so they can increase yields. The ethanol plant’s sister company will also help farmers on the agriculture side to achieve these goals.
