Ethanol production averages over-1 million barrels daily for 14th week straight

February 2, 2017 |

In Washington, the Energy Information Administration says that ethanol producers continue to roll out product at a record pace, with last week’s production volume hitting an average of 1.061 million barrels per day—the 14th week in a row of over-1 million barrels of production daily on average, about 12% of gasoline demand if all the production was blended immediately. If producers keep up this rate, they’re on track to produce more than 16 billion gallons for the year.
