Indonesian palm oil demand could increase 40% due to B20

In Indonesia, as the government looks to fully implement biodiesel blending mandate of 20% from the current 15% later this year for transportation fuel and 30% for power production, palm oil producers expect demand to increase as much as 40%. Voluntary roll out of the higher blend began in early 2016 while more pressure on those not yet implementing began in November. As a result, biodiesel demand is expected to reach 24 million liters in 2017.
