Green Plains sees 2017 ethanol exports remaining steady at 1.1 billion gallons

February 9, 2017 |

In Missouri, Green Plains’ CEO said an earnings call that despite an expected decrease in demand from China for US ethanol exports, the company expects annual exports to remain steady in 2017 at around 1.1 billion gallons, with 350 million gallons expected for export during Q1. The company plans to export about 25% of its production. China has all but withdrawn from the ethanol import market as it focuses on working through a 20 million metric ton surplus of below-feed grade corn.
