Waitrose rolls out biogas-powered Scania delivery trucks

In the UK, with a driving range of 500 miles, Waitrose has started delivering to stores in the north of England and the Midlands using CNG Scania trucks powered by biogas. CNG Fuels, who is supplying the biogas for the trucks, says the fuel runs up to 40% cheaper than diesel and has 70% fewer GHG emissions than fossil diesel. The vehicle’s capex is 50% higher than a diesel truck but amortizes down in two to three years.
