Alberta awards more than C$6 million in grants for biofuel companies

In Canada, the provincial government of Alberta awarded four biofuel companies just over C$6 million in grant funds under the Climate Change Program’s Bioenergy Producer Program . Both Permolex Ltd. and ADM Agri Industries were awarded C$1.8 million each, Invigor Bioenergy received C$1.1 million while Enerkem Alberta Biofuesl received C$526,400. Other projects who also won grants included electricity from biogas, heat from wood and wood waste, and electricity production from other sources with a heavy focus on forestry waste streams.
