Chempolis signs term sheet with NRL for Indian biorefinery

In India, Chempolis has signed a term sheet with Numaligarh Refinery Limited for a joint venture in the construction of the country’s first biorefinery that will produce ethanol, furfural and acetic acid from bamboo and other non-food feedstocks. The Assam-based facility will produce 49,000 metric tons of ethanol annually, a project that was first announced back in 2014 and has been progressing through development stages. The facility is expected to cost $141.8 million to build.
