RFA teaming with oil industry to battle growth of electric cars on the market

In Washington, the Renewable Fuels Agency is teaming with the oil sector represented by the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers to lobby for a level playing field when it comes to electric vehicles versus combustion vehicles. As more electric vehicles hit the road, they are beginning to erode the market share for vehicles that run on liquid fuels, be they fossil- or bio-based. Reuters says Consultants CRU Group estimates electric car and plug-in hybrid vehicle sales could hit 4.4 million in 2021 and exceed 6 million by 2025, up from 1.1 million in 2016.
