US ethanol production slips to 16.05 billion gallon annual clip

In Washington, according to EIA data analyzed by the Renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 1.034 million barrels per day (b/d)—or 43.43 million gallons daily. That is down 6,000 b/d from the week before and 27,000 b/d removed from last month’s record high. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 1.047 million b/d for an annualized rate of 16.05 billion gallons.

Stocks of ethanol stood at 22.7 million barrels. That is a 0.8% increase from last week. Imports of ethanol were nonexistent for the 26th straight week. Gasoline demand for the week averaged 363.8 million gallons (8.663 million barrels) daily. Refiner/blender input of ethanol averaged 868,000 b/d. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 11.94%.
